The winery

Weingut Wenzel in Rust on Lake Neusiedl has been making wine since 1647. Today the winery is run by Michael Wenzel, a twelfth-generation winemaker. Sonja Priller supports him with marketing and all things creative. The focus is on Furmint, which Michael's grandfather and father brought back to Rust together in 1984. The winery is certified organic, and the wines are spontaneously fermented, unfiltered and minimally sulfured.
