About us

Twelve generations leave their mark: experience, responsibility, stories – and some things that have stood the test of time, such as the old tree press from 1793 in our cellar. We carry this knowledge forward and combine it with curiosity and the courage to experiment.

Furmint

The work begins in the vineyard. We process only grapes from our own vineyards in Rust. We are a certified organic winery, work by hand as much as possible and intervene only where necessary. In the cellar, our wines ferment spontaneously and mature on the lees in steel tanks or wooden barrels – without cultured yeasts, chaptalization or fining agents, unfiltered and minimally sulfured. At the heart of it all is Furmint.

Low Intervention

Today Michael Wenzel runs the winery and is responsible for the vineyards and the cellar. Sonja Priller supports him with marketing and everything creative. As a photographer, she engages intensively with the landscape around the lake in her nature portraits – the reed belts, the wet meadows and the storks on the rooftops of Rust. How wine and image come together for us is shown under Wine & Art.
